Sideways knitted headband
This headband was knitted on my Bond USM knitting machine.
Gauge/tension: 12 st x 12 r = 5 cm x 5 cm (I know it sounds odd, but those are the numbers I got)
Bond USM keyplate 2
Head circumference: approx. 54 cm
With waste yarn and ravel cord, open edge cast on 40 sts. Knit ten rows of every colour (I used four different colours). Knit to row counter 119. Cut yarn, leaving a tail to graft the ends with. Knit a few rows with waste yarn. Take knitting off the needles, graft ends with the yarn tail at the end. Remove waste yarn. Fold the headband up with the purl sides together. Sew side seam with the Bickford Stitch. It is prettiest if you sew the seam with the colour of the knitting. Fasten and cut ends as you go. There is no need to weave in ends as they will be hidden on the inside of the heaband.
